J.O.Y. is pleased to be able to offer you the choice of shopping for specialist sock knitting yarns online or in person at our Sock Wool Boutique in Greytown. 

The boutique is located in the grounds of Scarlet Oak Cottage at 143 Main Street, one of Greytown’s original homes from 1875.

Look out for the bright pink sign on your right as you head north, or your left going south. Wander down the driveway to discover a wool lover's paradise where you will be greeted by James the avid sock knitter or Jazz the yarn-loving cat.

In store you will find everything which is available from our online store but to tempt you to visit there are additional products which are exclusive to the Greytown boutique.

We are currently open on Saturdays 10am – 4pm and we are happy to open at other days and times by appointment.

You’re also welcome to wander through the garden which is a constant work in progress featuring a variety of plants to ensure that there will always be something of interest on display. The best viewings are in generally in Spring for all the blossoms and flowers, while in Autumn the trees tend steal the show - you'll see why the Cottage was named Scarlet Oak.

Weather permitting you are welcome to sit and knit in the garden and in the summer months you can sample grapes and plums grown on the property.

The J.O.Y. Sock Wool Boutique and Scarlet Oak Cottage also play host to various events throughout the year including the Annual J.O.Y. Birthday Bash, the Anniversary Weekend Garden Party, Knit Pics (Knitter's Picnics), Sunday KNIT-Tea and the Friday Night Sock Club.
