Possum Merino blend 4ply 

Merino is one of New Zealand's most popular premium knitting yarns and when blended with possum fibre a truly luxurious yarn is created. Offering the best properties of both component fibres the merino provides breathability, strength and drape while the possum provides warmth retention and an airy loft while still being soft to the touch.

Possums are an introduced species to New Zealand. Unfortunately they have proven to be a pest by collectively eating thousands of tonnes of forest canopy each night and by being a predator of our native birds, many of which are endangered. The harvesting of possum fibre is not a sustainable process.

Thickness - 4 ply, fingering weight
Length - Approx 400m (437yds) per 100gm
Recommended needle size - 2.75-3.25mm (2-3US)
Tension - 10cm (4”) square = 27 sts x 36 rows
Care instructions - Hand wash / Air dry
